On July 14, 1997 the Board of Supervisors enacted Lower Gwynedd Township Ordinance 346 authorizing the designation by the Township of a single trash hauler for the collection, transportation, and disposal of municipal waste, bulk items, white goods, freon-containing appliances, leaf waste, grass clippings, and recyclable materials from all residential units in the township except those who properly and timely elect to use the services of another hauler ("opt out"). Copies of Township Ordinance 346 are available at the Lower Gwynedd Township building.
The Township held a public bid on September 19, 2004 and Waste Management of Indian Valley has been designated as the Township trash hauler from November 1, 2004 until October 31, 2007. All residential units will have one month to elect to opt out and use a hauler other than Waste Management. If you are not a residential property or you are are in a residential community that contracts it's trash services as a whole, such as a condominium association you may disregard this notice. This one-month period commences on October 15, 2004 and ends on November 15, 2004. All opt-out forms must be received at the Township Municipal Building by November 15, 2004.
To elect to opt out and use a hauler other than Waste Management, please fill out the bottom of this notice and return it to Lower Gwynedd Township, 1130 N. Bethlehem Pike, Spring House, PA 19477 Attn: Assistant Township Manager. Additional forms may be obtained at the Township Building. If you do not elect to opt out and use another hauler other than Waste Management, you will be obligated to use Waste Management from November 1, 2004 until October 31, 2007.

All commercial properties and communities whose trash hauler is contracted by a Homeowners Association or management company are exempt from this program.
