Lower Gwynedd Township encourages residents to take advantage of available tax relief programs for 2026. Homeowners and renters may be eligible for significant savings and are strongly encouraged to apply.
Homestead/Farmstead tax reduction: Apply Now
If your home in Lower Gwynedd Township is your primary residence, you are likely eligible for the Homestead Exemption, which can help reduce your Wissahickon School District real estate tax bill.
This program is available to homeowners who claim their Lower Gwynedd property as their primary residence. There are no age or income restrictions. The Board of Assessments will determine whether or not the property is eligible for a discount on Wissahickon School District real estate taxes.

The Application for Homestead & Farmstead Exclusion needs to be completed by March 1st and sent to the BOA in order to start saving this year. You do not need to re-apply each year.
Residents who have not yet applied are strongly encouraged to do so, as this program can result in meaningful annual tax savings.
Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program
The Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program supports homeowners and renters across Pennsylvania. This program provides a rebate ranging from $380 to $1,000 to eligible older adults and people with disabilities age 18 and older.
