Plymouth Road to Close at U.S. 202 (Dekalb Pike) Beginning Next Week for Roadway Construction

The Montgomery County bridge replacement project on Plymouth Road has been delayed due to the ongoing PennDot project at Route 202. PennDot will close and detour Plymouth Road approaching U.S. 202 (Dekalb Pike) beginning Monday, April 4, for construction activities under a project to widen and reconstruct nearly three miles of U.S. 202 from south of Morris Road to Hancock Road in Whitpain and Lower Gwynedd townships. The closure will be in place 24/7 through Monday, April 18. During the closure, Plymouth Road motorists will be directed to use U.S. 202 (Dekalb Pike), Sumneytown Pike and Evans Road. Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone. Motorists are advised to allow more time for travel near the work area because backups and slowdowns may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent. Once complete, Montgomery County will move forward with the closures necessary to complete the bridge replacement project on Plymouth Road.
