Deer Protection Recommendations

Deer can damage young trees and shrubs, especially during the first few years after planting. We strongly recommend protecting your new planting if deer are common in your area.

Protection methods may include:

• Chicken wire
• Wire mesh fencing
• Protective tree tubes

Supplies can be purchased at local garden centers or home improvement stores. Sharing materials with neighbors is also a great option.
