Lower Gwynedd Township was notified today of a positive West Nile Virus (WNV) mosquito sample at Pen-Ambler Park. Mosquitoes are active this time of year and WNV has been detected within the mosquito population throughout the county (which has been happening since 1999). Please see the attached letter detailing the situation. The Township encourages residents to take personal protective measures such as using repellents, wearing long sleeves and avoiding areas where mosquitoes seem to be active. Please police your own properties and dump/remove sources of standing water in which mosquitoes can breed.
